About OneFylde

OneFylde is a community-focused charity in Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre that provides person-centred support, housing, and activities for adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism. Formed in 2019 from the merger of two local organisations, it now supports over 230 individuals and employs nearly 400 staff.

Guided by values of inclusivity, respect, and empowerment, OneFylde helps people live fulfilling lives through tailored care, volunteering opportunities, and social enterprises like gardening and recycling services. Their mission is to ensure everyone is treated with dignity and enabled to achieve their goals, while fostering strong community connections and advocating for quality of life.

The Challenges

OneFylde faced several challenges in their operations. They were seeking an all-in-one care planning and management solution to streamline processes, as their previous system was outdated and offered limited access to information. For example, staff could only view their own rotas, which restricted collaboration and visibility across teams. To overcome these issues, they needed a modern, organized, and user-friendly platform that could improve efficiency and enhance the overall experience for both staff and the people they support.

The Approach

The charity wanted to update its current system to something more flexible, aiming to reduce time spent on administrative tasks and dedicate more time to supporting service users. They needed software that could handle supported living, homecare, and activities while bringing all essential information together in one integrated platform.

Overcoming Challenges

As OneFylde continue to add more clients and more carers to their service, they started looking for software that could help accommodate three areas; supported living, homecare and activities, while organising everything on one system.

After having used a different software that was found to be outdated and limited on what information could be viewed, the charity was seeking a modern, up-to-date system that was organised, easy to use and accessible.

Access has given the care team a lot more time to spend with the people they support and allowed them to spend more 1-1 time with their service users.

The new system effectively organised OneFylde’s work and saved time. It centralized rota management, automatically updating changes across all schedules. Accessible from any internet-connected device, the software enhanced record keeping and ensured compliance by consolidating information in one place.

Enhanced Compliance

After using these products, OneFylde found it easier to deliver outstanding quality care to their residents and easily demonstrate compliance with CQC by building their quality assurance including processes, tasks and event management. PeoplePlanner meant they could manage essential processes like planning of people, staff rotas and finance functions, including payroll and invoicing.
