Mental Health Act

The Mental Health Act is the main law relating to mental health disorders. The purpose of the legislation is twofold: the protection of people suffering from mental illness, to ensure they receive suitable care and their rights are respected, and a caveat of protecting others from potential harm.

Access Rio EPR has a dedicated Mental Health module for handling inpatients and outpatients. The Mental Health Act screen offers full end-to-end management of the Sectioning process to ensure accuracy, transparency, and proper communication between clinical parties. It also offers a To Do List tool, designed to assist MHA managers with events, reminders, and actioning elements such as renewals and tribunals.

The Access Group also works in partnership on our mental health software with Thalamos. They handle the form-filling elements, digitising paperwork so that patient records are more secure but also the key information is quicker to access and share, as well as being more accurate overall thanks to the ease of amending records. Simply click the Thalamos logo in the software and it will open their solution in a new tab. This is all still connected to the patient’s record and allows the user to fill in the traditional pink sheet log, which is then visible to healthcare professionals.

The Rio mental health module is approved by the Gov.uk Digital Marketplace and confirmed to be compliant with the Mental Health Act.
