Havant Homecare Ltd - Case Study

Havant Homecare Ltd, based in Hampshire, founded in 2016 by Katrina Thorne, is committed to delivering high-quality care to older individuals in their own homes. With a focus on improving care standards based on her extensive professional experience, Katrina established the business to ensure positive experiences for both recipients and their families. Katrina currently has 15 employees and 27 service users.

Growth Journey

  • Initial Setup: The company started in Katrina’s spare bedroom, growing rapidly in response to demand.
  • Expansion: As Havant Homecare developed, Katrina made a conscious effort to manage the growth pace, prioritising quality and customer satisfaction. 


Partnership with Access 

Katrina began using Access solutions in the summer of 2016, aligning with the early stages of her business start-up. Her experience with Access People Planner in previous employment greatly influenced her choice, given its user-friendly nature.

In addition to these, she provided crucial feedback for the early adopters of Access Care Rostering (the evolution of Access People Planner solution), helping enhance its usability and functionality during initial testing phases. Currently, Katrina has transitioned to Access Care Rostering whilst still having Access People Planner for the interim period whist adopting Care Rostering. 

Katrina has also been invited to partner with us to provide feedback on Access Evo Copilot which is our exciting AI Assistant which makes it easier to gather information and execute task efficiently.

The integration of Access solutions has significantly improved operational efficiency and cost savings:

1. Streamlined Rotas: Using People Planner and Care Rostering has maximised care visit scheduling. The incorporation of the Google Maps Module has led to substantial mileage cost savings by optimising travel routes and reducing travel times and removed the need to record on paper mileage sheets and made the process more efficient freeing up time to focus on other areas of the business.

2. Financial Management: Katrina no longer requires a bookkeeper for invoicing and accounts management, as these processes can now be handled within People Planner. This has provided a considerable financial saving for the business.

3. Environmental Sustainability: Havant Homecare is now 100% paper-free, achieved through use of their Access suite of solutions. 

4. One-Step Ahead: Becoming a paper-free service delivery positions Havant ahead of potential future regulatory requirements concerning documentation in care management and environmental sustainability.
