
Clinical Governance
Clinical Governance is a systematic approach to maintaining and improving the quality of patient care within the NHS.
Introduced in 1997, this places a new duty of quality on all health organisations in the UK. It is potentially a powerful mechanism for ensuring that high standards of clinical care are maintained throughout the country, and that the quality of the NHS services is continually improving.
