Donorfy Product Update: October 2026

It's been a busy few months at Donorfy, this update covers the goings on from August through to October.

In the July update we shared our plans for a new Enthuse integration, continued work on the new Donorfy API and enhanced Access EVO platform capabilities. I'm excited to say that all three of these are now in early access.

What's new?

  • The new Donorfy API has expanded to cover Transactions, Campaigns, Tasks and richer Constituent data
  • We have a new Enthuse Integration with a focus on tools for you to manage the incoming data
  • Dotdigital integration improvements and platinum partnership
  • More control over form branding
  • Performance improvements across Donorfy and the Mailchimp integration
  • A range of bug fixes addressing issues raised by customers and partners

These updates are applied automatically to your Donorfy account, you don't have to do anything to benefit from everything below.

New Donorfy API

We've kept building out the new Donorfy API. It's now available for early access, with published documentation and a changelog so integrators can see what changes with each release.

Transactions

  • Add a Transaction: Record a transaction against a constituent through the API, including multi-currency conversion, Gift Aid declarations and tax recovery, UTM tracking fields, fundraising page links and soft credits.
  • Automatic Constituent Creation: If no matching constituent exists, the API can create one when you add a transaction, including contact details.
  • Giving Stats Kept Up To Date: Adding a transaction through the API now recalculates the constituent's giving stats.
  • Campaign Permissions: Adding a transaction respects your existing campaign permissions.
  • List & Retrieve Transactions: Get a list of transactions or retrieve a single transaction by ID.

Constituents

  • Richer Constituent Details: When you retrieve a constituent you can now include their tags, pinned tags, contact preferences, main contact details and giving summary.
  • Create Constituents with Contact Details: Main and preferred contact details are saved when you create a constituent.
  • Address Lookup: A new address lookup endpoint makes it easier to capture accurate addresses.
  • Constituent Types: Constituent types now include custom data and avatar options.

Tasks

  • Tasks: Create tasks, retrieve them by ID or as a list, and get the list of users in your organisation to assign them to.

Campaigns

  • Campaigns: Campaign summary information and further campaign endpoints are now available

Enthuse Integration

Enthuse Integration v2 has moved forward a lot. Following last update's work on data retrieval and data quality, we've now built:

  • New Payments, Fundraising pages and Constituents tabs: Each one shows the Enthuse data in Donorfy, with summary headers, search, filtering and CSV export.
  • Campaign Linking: Fundraising pages can be linked to campaigns automatically, and you can filter by campaign on the Fundraising pages and Payments tabs.
  • Anonymous Donations: Anonymous donations are linked to a dedicated anonymous constituent, which is protected from deletion.
  • Data Quality Audit History: A record of the decisions made on the data quality screen.
  • Sync History & Manual Sync: Support users can view and download the sync history, and run a manual sync from a chosen date.
  • Switchover Wizard: The guided wizard for moving from the current integration to v2 has been refined.

Access Evo

We have improved how Donorfy works in Access EVO based on your feedback

  • Opportunities on the Constituent timeline can now be opened in an Evo tab.
  • Fixed an issue where tasks assigned to newly created Evo users did not show the "Assigned To" and "Assigned User Email" details, and those users were missing from the Task User filter.
  • Links to Donorfy's help materials have been updated to point to our new Knowledge Base.
  • Options in Settings > Configuration that only displayed a "Settings have moved" message have been removed.
  • The "new" label has been removed from the Dashboards tab.

We have also been busy building out our first set of agentic tooling in the Access EVO platform as well as quick actions to help perform Donorfy tasks quickly and easily. Do reach with any ideas which would help you.

We will be sharing more information on this in the coming months!

Dotdigital integration improvements

  • Preference Mapping Fixes: Fixed an issue where Donorfy Channels and Purposes mapped to Dotdigital Preferences weren't reaching Dotdigital. We've also made sure a consent can't end up on the wrong preference when one preference's name matches another's.
  • More Fields Can Be Mapped: Fixed an "Ambiguous column name" error that stopped syncs when Constituent Number or Preferred Email were mapped.
  • Smarter Rate Limit Handling: Donorfy now follows Dotdigital's recommended approach when their rate limits are reached, so large syncs are handled more reliably.
  • Updated Branding & Wording: The Dotdigital logo and icons have been updated to the current brand. To match Dotdigital's own terminology, "address book" is now "Dotdigital list" throughout Donorfy.

With these improvements we're now platinum partners with Dotdigital! We'll be talking about what this means and our plans for the future in future communications.

No action is required on your part, your existing settings and sync configurations haven't changed.

Online Fundraising – SMS

  • Fixed an issue that stopped the new SMS trigger action from working for some customers.
  • SMS opt-outs from Danish mobile numbers are now matched to the correct constituent, whether or not the number is stored with the +45 country code.

Forms

  • More Control Over Form Branding: You can now set the input text colour separately from the label text colour, as well as the input background colour and placeholder text colour. The "This is how your forms will look" preview now matches the live form more closely.
  • The input colours you choose now also apply to the Country field.
  • Fixed display issues on the Update Communication Preference form that made it hard to see which options were selected.

Performance improvements

  • Faster Page Loads: We've reduced repeated behind-the-scenes lookups on every request. This speeds up commonly used pages such as the Home page and Constituent profiles.
  • Mailchimp Subscription Checks: Checking a constituent's Mailchimp subscriptions is now around 40% faster.
  • Overnight Auto-Tagging: Fixed an issue where overnight auto-tagging could stop running after a platform update.

What about bug fixes?

Gift Aid

  • Fixed an issue where an empty Gift Aid claim could be moved to "Ready", which blocked the next claim from being prepared.
  • The "Merge this claim into the Active Claim" button no longer shows when there's no Ready claim to merge into.

Financial & Reporting

  • Fixed an issue where campaign financial stats used the Recurring Payment Instruction amount instead of the actual transaction amount for transactions linked to an RPI.
  • Fixed the Non-Gift Income row in Constituent Giving Stats, which repeated the year 2 figure in the year 3 column.
  • Fixed an issue where the Constituent timeline summary could fail to load for constituents with transactions carrying a large number of soft credits.
  • Fixed an issue where downloads from the Batched Transactions and Campaign timeline screens didn't produce a file.

Transactions & Integrations

  • Fixed an issue where an apostrophe in a Collection Method Reference Label broke the Batched Transactions screen.
  • Fixed an issue where sending transactions to Xero could time out and leave transactions marked as "sent" when nothing had been sent.
  • Fixed an issue where the web widget could overwrite an existing postal address on a matched constituent.

Lists, Tags & Opportunities

  • Fixed the broken link on Lists pinned to the menu with "Show in menu".
  • Auto-Tag lists now keep the order you set after saving.
  • Fixed an issue where the Opportunity Fundraiser field kept showing a user's old username after it was changed.

Settings & Sandboxes

  • Fixed three settings on the User Permissions screen that saved the wrong value when switched off.
  • Removing a sandbox now fully removes the sandbox's triggers.
  • Fixed an issue where, instead of showing an error message, some screens would keep loading indefinitely when a request failed.

API (v1)

  • Fixed an issue where the constituent Giving Summary returned the same value for both the 25–36 and 37–48 month non-gift income bands.

Security

  • As part of our ongoing commitment to platform security, we have addressed a number of security findings over the last few months, including dependency updates and code-level hardening. No customer action is needed.

What's next?

The following work is in progress and not yet available. We'll confirm availability in a future release:

  • Soft opt-in: Support for recording a "Soft opt-in" processing basis for Email and SMS, with a full audit trail of consent changes.
  • Enthuse Integration: Final testing ahead of moving our first customers across.
  • Donorfy API v2: More endpoints, including Pledges, Activities and Tasks, ahead of general release.
  • Access EVO agentic capability: We continue to work on utilising the Access EVO platform to make your data work for you.
