Volunteer Management

Assemble onboarding: built to land with FlightPath

Volunteer programmes don't pause while you change systems. Access Assemble onboarding follows a defined path, with a named consultant alongside you from welcome call to go live, so your coordinators keep coordinating while your new system takes shape.

  • FlightPath A: Perfect for smaller charities needing expert support to hit the ground running.
  • FlightPath B: Perfect for medium sized charities looking for confidence in their set-up.
  • FlightPath C: Perfect for larger charities who want expert hands guiding every step of the move.

"The Access onboarding team gave us lots of support. It pushed us to improve our data, update training and get policies aligned, so by the time we launched Assemble, we were in a much better place.”

Matt Hatt, Volunteering Services Manager Mencap

Your path to go live

Support once you're live

You're never on your own

Onboarding hands over to the support team, with close support in the weeks straight after go live while your team finds its feet.

  • Ongoing access to the support team for system queries, issues and guidance as your programme grows.
  • The Assemble Community, where coordinators from other organisations share what's working for them.
  • Additional services when you need them, from extra training to branding and integrations.

Your questions, answered

How long does Assemble onboarding typically take?

It depends on the size of your programme, and how much time your team can give between sessions.

FlightPath A tends to move fastest, since the framework of your system is built for you. FlightPath B and C timelines are shaped largely by how quickly your team works through building and configuring in staging.

Larger FlightPath C programmes run over a longer period, as there's more to configure and more people to bring on board.

Your consultant maps out a plan at kick-off, so you can see the shape of your project from the start and know what's expected at each point.

When do we get access to Assemble?

On FlightPath A, after your Site Reveal call, once the framework of your system has been built. On FlightPath B and C, after your first training session, so you can start building with the training fresh.

How much of our team's time does it take?

As a guide, FlightPath A asks for around 10 hours of your team's time across the project, FlightPath B around 40, and FlightPath C around 80.

These are averages of course, and the real figure depends on how much configuration your specific programme needs.

That time covers your calls and training sessions, gathering the details for your set-up, and working through your configuration in between.

We're a small charity. Is there an option for us?

Yes, that's FlightPath A. It's an implementation package designed especially for smaller charities with up to 500 volunteers, and up to 10 volunteer managers.

How much do FlightPaths cost?

It depends on which FlightPath fits your programme and whether you add anything alongside it, so the best way to get an accurate figure is to talk to us.

Onboarding is usually built into the cost of your Assemble licence rather than charged as a separate upfront fee. For most charities that's easier to budget for, since it sits alongside the software cost instead of landing in one go.

What if our programme is too large for FlightPath C?

No problem, just get in touch and we'll work out the right approach for you.

If your database is larger, a standard FlightPath may still be the right fit depending on your setup, or we may recommend a more tailored, project manager-led implementation instead.

Either way, you won't be left to figure it out alone. Just talk to us and we'll point you in the right direction.

What other services can be added?

Plenty, and your consultant can help you decide if any would be helpful.

The common ones: extra training for a big or scattered manager group, your own branded volunteer app, and a managed integration between Assemble and your CRM, so volunteer and donor records stop living in two places.
