More than just a product update: Donorfy’s next phase

This is a challenging time for charities. Keeping up with the everchanging opportunities and risks of AI. Managing declining donations. Juggling more tools and data than ever before.

That fragmentation slows teams down and makes it harder to drive your mission. Since Donorfy began in 2012, our mission has been simple: to help you do more of what matters. But to keep delivering on that promise in today’s landscape, we need to evolve too. Thanks to joining the Access Evo platform, we can. What’s coming next is our biggest and best changes yet.

Let’s bring this to life through five keys areas, which I’ll call RELIC: not a look back at the past, but a framework for what comes next.

Roadmap

This next phase of Donorfy includes rebuilt foundations to make your day-to-day work faster, simpler and more intuitive.

In development right now is a new API (more on that soon), and UX improvements like making your Supporter Timelines easier to follow.

But what’s next? Think enhancements across analytics, user experience and lists. Imagine asking Donorfy a question and getting instant insight, without having to build complex lists or reports.

We’re using Agentic AI to make this a reality, as well as overhauling our File Uploader so you can get your data into Donorfy with much more ease than current functionality.

Access Evo

With Access Evo, Donorfy isn’t just changing gear: it’s getting a whole new engine.

Single sign-on improves security. Centralised user management reduces admin. And powerful tools like Copilot, Navigator Screen and Analytics will be at your fingertips. These tools enable you to see better insights at a quicker rate, and not just for your Donorfy data.

Evo also powers seamless integration with other Access products used to manage your website, online advertising, and volunteering.

Building AI into a product is one thing, but Access Evo also has the context across your data to join the dots across your campaigns and supporters.

Learning

Another huge benefit of Evo is the new Donorfy Academy.

We launched the Academy nearly four years ago, with over 7,000 course completions in that time.

But, we’ve always known there’s room for improvement, especially with charities being restricted to three free licences which we know is awkward and unhelpful.

Now, through Access Evo, you and your team have unlimited access to all the same content - no licences or limits to be seen. That means more people across your organisation can confidently use Donorfy. All you need is a Donorfy login, and you’re good to go (see full steps here).

Also watch this space for more courses landing on the new Academy very soon.

Integrations

As already mentioned, Access Evo gives you the power to integrate Donorfy with apps like Assemble and Raise.

But, a big part of our commitment to making your days easier, is how Donorfy works with the other apps you use for taking donations and marketing to your supporters.

That’s why integrations play such a big role in our roadmap. Right now, we’re developing richer personalisation options with Mailchimp. Plus, we’ve recently finished enhancing our Dotdigital integration for better performance, and enabled bulk and automated SMS to donors through OnlineFundraising.

We’re also upgrading our integration with Enthuse, who recently joined The Access Group, for richer data and better automation.

But, we’re not just improving integrations one by one. We’re rebuilding Donorfy through transforming the API (how Donorfy speaks to other apps, payment providers and your website). This means smarter searching for constituents, the ability to update supporter records in bulk, faster integrations across the board and much more.

This all helps cement Donorfy as your charity hub, plugging into the rest of your charity stack to spend less time wrangling data, and more time driving impact.

Community

We’re excited about our roadmap and what the future looks like for Donorfy.

But that’s irrelevant. What matters is how you, our amazing charity customers, feel about it. That’s why we’re more determined than ever before to be led by feedback from the Donorfy community.

It’s encouraging that, based on feedback from our recent roadmap webinar, there was a 4.07/5 rating for excitement about the direction of Donorfy. But what's really going to help steer us is our new focus groups – with lots of you already signed up!

These will be accessible sessions, both general and on specific areas, and we’re exploring both online and in-person options. There are also early adopter programmes where select customers can let us know what they think of a new release before it’s shipped more widely. And there’s our Facebook community with over 1,600 members: Donorfy Chat, our Feature Upvote page, and our next conference: Access Donorfest 2027 (more news soon...)

Through all these channels you’re shaping what we build, not just seeing the result.

The future of charity tech shouldn’t feel like something you have to catch up with, but something that’s working with you every day. This is just the beginning of Donorfy’s next phase, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

The first Focus Groups sessions in July/August will explore user experience, Smart Lists and the File Uploader, with more in the pipeline.
