Background

Founded in 1975, SCC deliver a wide range of IT solutions to businesses across Europe including the likes of British Airways, WHSmith, and the NHS.

SCC's IT solutions relate to security, networks, cloud, business process outsourcing and innovation to name a few.

With offices across Europe and Asia, SCC has a diverse 1600+ strong team with a strong reward culture.

The situation

SCC already offered loads of great perks and benefits like free breakfasts and paid volunteer days.

However, with a big focus on benefits, they needed an internal benefits brand to match along with a bespoke, easy-to-access employee benefits platform to harmonise their offering.

A brand-new platform

SCC needed to harmonise their benefits offering to include new and existing employee benefits

A shiny new benefits brand

To boost recruitment and engagement, SCC required an internal brand separate from their existing corporate exterior

A wide range of new benefits schemes

SCC wanted to add more full-bodied schemes like Eyecare Vouchers and an Online GP to their existing benefits like free breakfasts and volunteer days.

The solution

“SCC Balance” was born, starting with a new SCC Balance logo and finishing with a bespoke platform, bespoke communications, full brand guidelines and a huge range of new and existing benefits schemes.

Creating “SCC Balance”

To boost engagement, SCC wanted something more vibrant than their existing corporate exterior. We created 8 concept logos and a winner was chosen.

We then followed up defining brand colours and assets to make the brand, platform and communications really stand out.

Creating the right first impression

From there, we produced four concept login pages for the SCC Balance platform, giving SCC the chance to choose the design that would speak to their employees the most.

The winning design set the basis for the design of the platform itself to create a seamless employee benefits experience.

People. Places. Stash.

To improve employee engagement and the user experience, SCC’s benefits were categorised into three main areas, People, Places and Stash.

“People” includes the benefits designed to improve work-life balance and job satisfaction such as financial and health and wellbeing schemes.

“Places” includes benefits related to the places employees love or visit the most and includes benefits like Holiday Trading and hotel discounts for example.

“Stash” houses the benefits designed to give employees the things they want for less and includes salary sacrifice schemes and a huge range of discounts.

Bespoke communications and graphics

To further improve engagement, bespoke communications including posters were created along with accompanying tiles and banners included in the platform to give it the right look and feel.

The brand colours associated with People, Places and Stash were intentionally carried through to communications to improve the link and improve engagement.

Improving recruitment and engagement

With the SCC Balance platform created, we handed over all the SCC Balance branding assets for SCC to use with any future material.

SCC have since used the SCC Balance brand assets to promote their benefits platform and range through their careers site to improve recruitment.

SCC also use their branded material at roadshows, in induction booklets and all internal communications.

A new and extended range of employee benefits

Through their new platform, we incorporated all of SCC’s existing benefits including their free breakfasts, annual leave extras, improved maternity, paternity and adoption leave and much more to harmonise their benefits offering.

Following a review of their benefits, SCC then introduced a range of new benefit schemes including Dental Cover, a Health Cash Plan, and Eyecare Vouchers with £125 towards new glasses, a 24/7 online GP under their “People” benefits.

They also included the Holiday Trading scheme, Gym Scheme, and Cinema Discounts under “Places” to name a few, along with the Green Car Scheme, Savings Club, Employee Discounts, Technology Scheme, Commuting Scheme and Cycle to Work under “Stash”.

With a well-rounded benefits offering, SCC gave their new “Balance” internal brand meaning and substance to make it truly resonate with staff.

The results

Within the first week of the launch of SCC Balance, SCC achieved a 71% registration rate which has since increased further along with tons of positive feedback from employees.

SCC staff love the new branded and personal feel of the SCC Balance platform which has contributed to increased employee engagement and employee retention.

SCC Balance has supported SCC’s intention to recruit the best talent too.

SCC have since used their new internal benefits brand guidelines to carry the brand through to their recruitment site with promotional videos and brochures.

SCC continue to benefit from proactive account management to maintain high levels of employee engagement and to further boost registrations, ensuring most importantly that staff are rewarded effectively.
