How UWE is embedding employability into the curriculum
The University of the West of England, Bristol has been using Career Centre’s Career Pulse and Programme Manager tools to support them in embedding employability throughout the curriculum.
Other activities to support this include:
- Using an Enhancement Framework (embedding graduate attributes), incorporating the DOTS Model, to enable students to successfully prepare for the world of work;
- Linking senior careers consultants to faculty and supporting their programme teams in understanding how the graduate attributes can be translated into programmes;
- The online programme development blends Access Career Development and UWE resources;
- Linking employability to learning objectives and assessment via a model which enables students to develop their self-awareness, understand their options (researching labour market, further study or starting a business), preparing and applying (CVs, applications, interviews etc.) followed by gaining work experience.
