The Access Group acquired Bookboon in May 2022 as part of our suite of digital learning solutions. In February 2026 we rebranded to Access Learning Content, reflecting an evolution to meet modern learning needs.
What was Bookboon?
Bookboon was a digital learning content provider, founded in 1988. It built one of the world's largest professional eBook libraries, with written learning resources for individual professionals and organisations focused on workplace learning and development.
In May 2022, The Access Group acquired Bookboon, adding thirty-four years of digital learning content expertise to its offering.
From Bookboon to Access Learning Content
After the acquisition, we expanded from a single-format eBook library to an on-demand learning platform built for how people learn at work today: quick, practical, and immediately applicable.
We split the Bookboon offering into two products for organisations and individuals.
- For individual learners, bookboon.com continues to offer expert-led content for professionals who want to keep developing on their own terms, without needing an organisational licence.
- For organisations, Access Learning Content delivers on-demand content in multiple formats, from video shorts and audio podcasts to live virtual classrooms and expert talks.
