Harnessing the power of Access GCSEPod Evo
At the British School Alzira, Xàtiva and Gandia group innovation is central to the learning experience. With a clear commitment to blending technology and teaching, the school is always looking for tools that can both raise student achievement and support teacher effectiveness.
Leading this vision is Antonio Fajardo Navarro, Head of Innovation and Technology, who has been exploring how the new Access GCSEPod Evo features can help transform marking, lesson planning and feedback at the school.

Unlocking smarter marking with Evo
For Antonio, the Marking Assistant has already made a noticeable difference. Traditionally, open-ended questions were avoided because of the time it took to mark them and provide detailed feedback. With Evo, this barrier has been removed.
“Marking Assistant allows me to give feedback more quickly to students, especially with open-ended questions. I used to avoid those because of the heavy workload, but now that is no longer the case.”
This shift has empowered teachers to set richer, more challenging tasks, knowing that marking will be quicker and feedback more personalised. Students are now receiving better guidance, faster, while teachers reclaim precious hours.
Saving time and reducing workload
Antonio explains that Evo has already begun to cut down on marking time and ease the pressure on staff workload.
“This functionality has definitely saved me time in marking and reduced the effort needed to provide personalised feedback.”
The Assignment Creation feature also shows real promise, with the potential to help teachers set and manage work more efficiently. While Antonio has not yet fully explored every Evo feature, the early signs point to a powerful system capable of saving time and reducing stress.
Driving school-wide adoption
While Antonio has been quick to explore Evo’s tools, he believes the next step is ensuring staff across the school are confident in using them.
“I believe Evo’s new features could strongly support our school if staff clearly see how their workload can be reduced. My own experience with the AI correction of open-ended questions has shown how effective it can be.”
Training and ongoing support will be crucial for embedding Evo into daily practice. Antonio highlights the importance of continued personal contact and tailored training, helping staff to understand the benefits first-hand.
A trusted platform for teachers and students
Beyond Evo, Antonio is clear about the value that Access GCSEPod already brings to the British School Alzira, Xàtiva and Gandia group.
“It is an extremely powerful and useful platform, an excellent source of extra and supportive content for revision, introductions, cover lessons and more. The possibilities are endless.”
Students at the school regularly use the platform to support their learning and revision, while teachers value the breadth of high-quality content available at their fingertips.
Looking ahead
For Antonio, Access GCSEPod Evo represents more than just a teaching tool: it’s a partner in creating a smarter, more efficient, and more engaging classroom experience. With the right training and awareness, he sees real potential for Evo to have a lasting impact on both staff workload and student success.
