The FMS6 link module automatically transfers data between Access Education Budgets (formerly HCSS Budgeting) and the SIMS FMS6 accounting package, seamlessly ensuring consistency between the long term budget plan and in year budget management.

Significant time savings

School finance teams must enter their budget into their accounting package at least once a year. The link between Access Education Budgets and FMS6 automates this time consuming and onerous task. Where budgets are revised at multiple points throughout the year, a link becomes even more important.

Consistency of data

A lot of time can be spent reconciling the differences between the budget in FMS6 and the long term budget. A link between the two removes the need for this task and ensures that the current budget always reflects decisions made which affect the long term budget.

Transfer of code structures

The link imports the existing FMS6 chart of accounts structure into Access Education Budgets. Budgets can then be entered against familiar codes. The imported structure will take account of links between codes, ensuring that invalid code combinations cannot be selected.

Transfer of budgets

Users may choose when to export budgets from Access Education Budgets to FMS6. Budgets are imported into FMS6 against the chosen combination. Budgets may be transferred as many times as required, to a chosen financial year.
