What does a session look like?

Each virtual classroom session runs for 60 minutes, designed to deliver focused, actionable content without overwhelming learners' schedules. Sessions follow a structured format that balances expert-led instruction with interactive elements, ensuring participants remain engaged throughout. Built into every session are dedicated opportunities for questions. 

Delivery options

Approximately two VILT sessions are hosted per week on a variety of different topics, ensuring a consistent flow of fresh content that addresses specialist industry needs and learner interests. This regular schedule provides flexibility in topic selection.  

Once each classroom session has been completed, it is then uploaded to the respective Subject Matter Expert's author profile, creating a repository of specialised knowledge that learners can revisit at their convenience.

How it works

Learners can easily book virtual classroom sessions directly within the Access Bookboon platform. Once registered, they receive a calendar invite and automated reminders leading up to the session. Spotlights on particular topics will highlight upcoming sessions that align with current industry trends or seasonal learning priorities. On the day of the session, learners simply click to join through their browser and participate in the 60-minute interactive experience. 

If a learner chooses to watch the recording later, they can easily navigate to specific content through chapter selections that break down the session into digestible sections. This feature allows learners to quickly locate and revisit particular topics or discussions without having to watch the entire recording, making it simple to find exactly what they need.

What is VILT? How is it different from eLearning?

VILT differs from traditional eLearning by providing real-time interaction with instructors and peers through live sessions, creating a cohort learning experience, whereas eLearning typically consists of pre-recorded, self-paced content that learners complete independently. 

Are sessions recorded and if so, how long are replays available?

Yes, all virtual classroom sessions are recorded to ensure no one misses critical content due to scheduling conflicts. Recordings are available on the Subject Matter Expert's author page indefinitely, unless content is updated. 

Is there a typical class size and are there any interaction rules?

There is no set class size limit, and learners can join anonymously or share their details when joining. Sessions are designed to be inclusive and interactive, allowing all participants to engage at their comfort level. 

Do you offer custom/private classes?

Custom or private classes are not available within Bookboon. 

What are the accessibility options for virtual classrooms?

Auto-generated captions are provided for all sessions to support accessibility needs. Additionally, recorded sessions are divided into chapter selections, allowing learners to easily navigate to specific sections and topics without having to watch the entire recording - particularly beneficial for learners who may need to revisit content at their own pace or focus on areas of interest.
