Ethical and Responsible AI:
Building trust for a better tomorrow

At Access, we take data security and responsible AI technology usage very seriously. Our mission is to bring our customers all the benefits of AI in a unique and empowering software experience with the confidence to use it safely, securely, ethically and responsibly.

Building trust with responsible AI

Our customers can be assured that we are implementing AI responsibly and thoughtfully. AI will allow employees to do more of what their jobs demand, and incorporating artificial intelligence into our products is the next step towards that objective.

We have made significant investments in both the AI technology we use and the secure infrastructure in which it operates. We’ve collaborated with Microsoft to create our AI-enabled software experience, which has been working for years to advance the field of AI and also publicly guide how these technologies are created and used on their platforms in responsible and ethical ways.

Access Evo uses generative AI in conjunction with your Access products. It has been built so that we don’t share information and data with Open AI Models for learning purposes, and this is confidential to you. When a prompt is created, it can only access the data within the product’s domain in addition to GPT Capabilities. Given the importance of confidentiality, all your permissions are replicated with your software.

However exciting AI or any new technology is, if you cannot protect your customers’ data, it is worthless.

Principles of responsible AI

Access maintains the highest care and commitment to the responsible and ethical use of AI by following a clear set of principles that guide the development and deployment of our AI-enabled solutions:

How we’re putting principles into practice

At Access we transform these responsible AI principles into action:

  • Bias Monitoring: Our product teams independently and regularly review our AI solutions for fairness and objectivity, while Microsoft, also conducts their own periodic bias assessments.
  • User-Friendly Insights: Our AI solutions provide clear, accessible explanations for users, so they can understand how decisions are made.
  • Data Security: We employ our advanced 3-tier security model to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorised access.
  • Ethical Oversight: Our internal Ethical AI Committee continuously reviews our AI development processes, keeping our solutions aligned with ethical and regulatory standards.
At Access, obtaining ISO 42001 accreditation demonstrates our commitment to responsible and ethical AI, fostering continuous improvement within our Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS). This internationally recognised standard enhances our practices, enabling responsible AI innovation that addresses today’s challenges while maintaining technological excellence. It serves as the world's first international standard for AIMS, offering a framework for:
  1. Responsible AI development and deployment
  2. Ethical AI governance throughout the lifecycle
  3. Systematic risk management and accountability

Commitment to continuous improvement

Responsible AI is not a static achievement but an evolving process. We are committed to ongoing research and development, ensuring that our AI technologies remain up to date with the latest ethical practices and technological advancements. By learning and adapting, we ensure our AI systems meet the changing needs of both businesses and society.
