Dementia UK named UK Charity of the year by The Access Group

The Access Group, a leading provider of business management software to mid-market organisations across the UK, Ireland, the US, and Asia Pacific, has announced Dementia UK as its UK Charity of the Year for the 2025/26 financial year.

Posted 22/07/2025

Dementia UK is one of nine charities selected globally, as part of The Access Group’s commitment to social impact and community support.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Its nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free specialist advice, support and understanding to anyone affected by dementia. Admiral Nurses work across the charity’s Helpline, clinics services and a range of healthcare settings around the UK.

Each year, Access employees nominate and vote for the causes they care about most. The company then supports the selected charities through a year-long calendar of fundraising events, matching every pound raised and providing additional grants through The Access Foundation.

In the last financial year, The Access Group and its employees raised an impressive £1.55 million for global causes, including £1million for its 2024 UK Charity of the Year, Young Lives vs Cancer.

Dr Hilda Hayo, Chief Admiral Nurse and CEO of Dementia UK, said:

“We are grateful to The Access Group for choosing Dementia UK as its Charity of the Year. This generous support will help us reach more people through our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses, making a significant difference to their lives through practical and emotional support. Thanks to partners like The Access Group, we can work towards making sure no one has to face dementia alone.”

Caroline Fanning, Chief Employee Success Officer at The Access Group, commented:

“Our people continue to inspire us with their passion and generosity. Raising £1.55 million for charities around the world reflects the values that drive our culture at Access. Everyone’s dedication to giving back brings to life our mission: "Love Work. Love Life. Be You.

As we grow as a business, so does our opportunity to give back, and we’re proud to stand alongside our teams in supporting global causes that truly matter to them and to the communities we serve.”
