The best recruitment companies to follow on Instagram

Louis Urbanowski

Recruitment Industry Specialist

We know one of the first things you do when researching a candidate is trawl through their social media, and it should be no different when checking out a recruitment agency. From embarrassing staff nights out to motivational quotes or promoting important industry events, Instagram is a great platform to keep an eye on what the competition are up to. We’ve analysed loads of hashtags and watched countless boomerangs, and here are our favourites:

@MajorPlayers

This agency cover a huge scope of creative, design, digital and marketing industries. Their team always seem to be celebrating something. If you’re a sucker for a cheesy London snap, this is the account to follow. The gang have been found posing in front of Big Ben, drinking cocktails up the Shard or taking in the view at Sky Garden. Their office looks pretty cool too.

@reclabs

This page is a perfect split of useful tips explaining the meaning of IT jargon (no, Mocha isn’t just a type of coffee) and funny quotes. Take, for example: ‘Life is too short to read boring cover letters’ or ‘Episode IV: The ideal candidate… In a galaxy far, far away’. The agency’s humour feels like one big ‘in joke’ for anyone who has worked in the industry long enough; I think we can all relate to ‘I found the ideal candidate, but then my alarm rang.’

@creativerecruitment
For an agency that specialises in the visual, from creative to print and 3D, it’s no surprise Creative Recruitment’s Instagram account is full of artsy wanderings around the capital. You can expect plenty of hipster stereotypes, such as Shoreditch graffiti, canal boats, Tate paintings as well as some strange Londoner sightings, including a Spiderman on a bike. Who knows what they’ll stumble upon next.

@recruitingsocial

Are Recruiting Social ever actually in the office? Their Instagram account is full of great shots of the team exploring Vancouver and Toronto; their beloved home cities. The odd palm tree beach scene can be spotted in there too, taken from their LA base. And of course, plenty of flat white and Macbook shots as they work remotely when zipping back and forth between offices.

@digitalgurus

With teams in London, Manchester, Dubai and Sydney, there’s a lot to post about on Digital Guru’s Instagram account. Full of hilarious videos of various members of staff from across the globe, they don’t take their account too seriously and they definitely know how to have fun. With office dogs, champagne popping, card games and office feasts, this page is full of raucous mischief (with real work related stuff thrown in here and there). I mean, these guys are real pros as the #1 most socially engaged medium enterprise in the EMEA region according to Linkedin. Not bad.

@interquestgroup
Even though Interquest specialise in serious business, including cyber security, technology and analytics, their Instagram demonstrates a fantastic a work/life balance. The team are always organising charity fundraising, office sport days, fancy dress competitions, rounds of golf and even dodgeball tournaments. Proof that working hard and playing hard pays off.

So who says office life in recruitment isn’t fun? After looking at this lot, I’m sure you’ll agree our line of work can involve a lot of laughs. If you’re looking to set up your own agency Instagram, remember the images must be eye-catching and the posts consistent, that industry humour always does well and it’s a great way to promote your own unique office culture. But do remember to include some useful tips to keep your audience interested and prove you have a lot of insightful advice to share.
