Science Based Targets Initiative validates The Access Group’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions

In 2024, Access took measures to enhance the accuracy of its carbon footprint by improving data collection and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its operations and supply chain and committed to setting carbon reduction targets aligned with the SBTi.

The SBTi is a corporate climate action organisation that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis.

Near-Term targets

Access commits to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 58.8% from a FY2024 base year by FY2034.

Access also commits to reducing scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods and business travel by 63.8% per GBP value added within the same timeframe.

Sally Johnson, CFO of The Access Group, said: "This validation confirms that our reduction targets are genuinely aligned with what the science says is needed. A 58.8% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2034 is ambitious, and we're committed to delivering it."
