Fast growing software company brings jobs to East Midlands

One of the UK’s leading employers is creating job opportunities in the area and strengthening its ties with local universities as it takes office space at Loughborough University Science & Enterprise Park. Access Group, who provides innovative software solutions to businesses and charities, is opening a technical development and support centre on the campus, which will host over 200 staff.

Access has featured in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For listing for the past three years, and prides itself on being one of the UK’s destination employers. By building connections with the local universities Access will be able to accelerate its Graduate Recruitment Programme, which saw 96 graduate positions recruited into the company in the past 12 months, in roles including support engineers, software developers and implementation consultants.

Claire Scott, Chief People Officer at Access Group, said, “By expanding our links with local universities we open ourselves up to a great pool of talent, that can bring relevant skills to Access Group and embark on a great career with us.”

Access has an outstanding track record as a great employer in the East Midlands, having had a large office in Lockington for the past four years. There are many synergies with Loughborough University’s science and technology knowledge base and its graduate suppl,y which is rated top five in the UK, making the campus the ideal location for Access.

Professor Tracy Bhamra, Pro Vice Chancellor for Enterprise, Loughborough University, said, “Access Group have a well-earned reputation as both one of the UK’s top employers and innovators, so they’re the perfect fit for  our Science & Enterprise Park. They are focussed on developing employees, graduates, and technology and are keen to maximise mutually beneficial links with the University. This is going to be a great partnership.” Access joins the dynamic community of 60 organisations on the Science & Enterprise including BSI, DNV GL and National Grid, and have already moved in the first of their development teams, and will continue to bring more staff in between now and April 2017.

“Loughborough University Science & Enterprise Park is the perfect location for our biggest offices. It puts us at the heart of recruitment in the East Midlands, and in easy reach of six universities, meaning we’re going to be able to benefit from the fresh new talent available. To be in such a creative location, alongside so many other innovative companies can only be good news for Access,” concluded Claire.
