In a lean economy, few organisations can afford to overlook
factors that affect morale, productivity and profitability. This
makes absence as much of a performance indicator as more
'traditional' KPIs such as turnover and profit.
We provide all the tools you need to accurately measure absence
levels within your organisation - and implement robust procedures
that both engage employees and positively impact your bottom
line.
Collecting absence data
Access HR software makes it quick and simple to collect timely,
accurate absence records. Using configurable electronic forms and
drop-down menus, you can capture and report on the precise
information you need, from sickness and holidays to hospital
visits. For example:
- Name of employee
- Contact details
- Date of first day of absence
- Cause e.g. work-related
- Working days absent
- Further action required
- Any risks / specific needs or adjustments.
Self-service
Using our web-based self-service portal, staff can easily
record and edit absence requests via the internet before sending it
to a manager for approval (Authorisation can be set at as many
levels as you require).
Analysing absence
Absence can be analysed using standard reports (incorporating
Bradford Factor if required) or viewed from one of our many
standard dashboard charts.
Analysing KPIs via dashboards
Our Business Intelligence (BI)
dashboard tools take raw data held in your HR system and makes it
easy to understand via top-level graphs and charts. Using
dashboards, your managers could log on first thing in the morning
and see all absences for his/her team and monitor the situation as
it unfolds, in real-time.
Information you could monitor via dashboards might consist
of:
- Benchmarking figures - enabling you to compare
your absence levels against other companies - both nationally,
locally and in comparison to other sectors
- Company-wide comparisons - the lengths, types
and frequencies of absence across your organisation as well as
different departments (who may well have different absence
targets).
Armed with these up-to-the-moment statistics, decision-makers
have the detailed and accurate information they need to investigate
reasons for absence, and develop new procedures and incentives.
