Team Armstrong completes the Asics British 10k London run
Harpenden, UK - 1st July 2007 - Staff
members from Hertfordshire software company, Armstrong Consultants,
have completed the Asics British 10K London run to raise
£3,000 for their nominated charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Eight employees completed the course on Sunday 1st July 2007, which
took in the landmark sights of central London.
Over 20,000 people took part in the race and
although the winner completed the course in 29 minutes, Team
Armstrong, officially named 'Mr Armstrong & The Pacemakers',
had all finished the race after a respectable 75 minutes. Marie
Curie Cancer Care aims to raise over £100,000 from supporters
taking part in this event.
Claire Jones, marketing manager at Armstrong Consultants and member
of 'Mr Armstrong & The Pacemakers' commented: "This has been
such a great experience for all the team and we're really thrilled
to have completed the course and to have raised so much money for
Marie Curie. We started out with the aim of getting fit together,
but with the support of our colleagues, family and friends we have
achieved far in excess of our initial target of £1,000 which
is fantastic. We're now hatching a plan for our next charity team
event!"
