Rotherham College of Arts and Technology chooses Access for reliable reports and education expertise
Colchester, UK - 15 June 2011 - Rotherham College of Arts and
Technology has invested in a new human resources solution from Access Select as it
looks to improve efficiency and benefit from reliable real-time
reports. With 550 staff running over 2000 courses the college is
undertaking a system integration review to develop more efficient
systems. It was important to get an HR solution in place that would
reduce the administration burden, and enable the six person
Personnel team to spend more time on strategic activities.
The college's existing HR system had become outdated and wasn't
delivering what they needed in terms of reporting and helping with
efficient working. Paul Simpson, Head of Unit - Personnel at
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology, said, "We really wanted
one system that did everything and it was important to have the
ability to automate many of our day-to-day processes and reduce the
administration burden. We've been duplicating a lot of the
information we hold so we have four or five separate databases,
we're now looking to centralise that information."
After considering options from Ciphr, Snowdrop and Bond it
selected Access' SelectHR Web Edition. "SelectHR did everything that
we wanted and within budget. Access built up a great relationship
with us so we knew we could work with them, and they arranged a
visit to Warwickshire College to see the solution working at
another college. Their experience in the sector, capabilities of
the software, and approach really impressed," continued Paul.
Rotherham College of Arts and Technology will be focussing on
the quality of reports when they go live later in the year.
"Currently when we do reports we have to spend a lot of time doing
so. With SelectHR we'll be able to produce reports more quickly and
regularly, so we'll have more information to inform our decisions.
We currently look at our new starter turnover three times a year;
now we'll be able to do it monthly," continued Paul. "It's going to
be interesting to see what else we can do now a number of our
manual processes will be automated. We'll be able to put more
emphasis on investing in other hr projects, change management, and
support for managers and staff."
Dee Caporali, sales director at Access Select, said, "I'm
delighted that Rotherham College of Arts and Technology are the
latest in a long line of further education establishments to choose
SelectHR. Our expertise in this sector and our understanding of the
unique demands of the market place has established us as a market
leader in HR offerings for FE colleges. We're really looking
forward to working with the Personnel team at Rotherham College of
Arts and Technology."
"SelectHR has given us the belief that it can enable the human
resources function to concentrate on supporting management and
staff and focus on the organisational strategy, rather than a
spending so much time on HR admin," concluded Paul.
