New Access Supply Chain system oils the wheels for Denco Lubrication

Emley, UK - 7th July  2008 - With a blue-chip client base and a predicted 23% revenue growth this year, Denco Lubrication has turned to Access Supply Chain to provide improved visibility and control of its operations.

Denco Lubrication designs, manufactures, installs, commissions and maintains lubrication and cooling systems for the heavy-duty industrial market. Its customers include Bosch, Corus, Exxon Mobil and the London Underground. Headquartered in Hereford, it employs nearly 150 staff at three UK sites.  Denco Lubrication is part of the US-owned, Bijur Delimon International group, a leader in the design and manufacture of fluid dispensing products and systems, with facilities in the United States, China, France, Germany, Austria, Ireland, India and Spain.

Shortlisting two software solution suppliers, Denco Lubrication chose Access Supply Chain because of its superior price-performance and it is expected the new system will bring dramatically improved visibility and efficiency to the business.

When Denco Lubrication was acquired by Bijur Delimon it fitted perfectly into the new owner's portfolio; however the group's IT system could not support the contracts side of Denco Lubrication's business.  At the same time, Denco Lubrication's own IT system was under strain - primarily an accounting solution, it was written in an obsolete programming language and heavily bespoked. So the company was given authorisation by its American parent to source its own business software solution.

Yvonne Robertson, director of finance and administration for Denco Lubrication, headed the steering group responsible for finding a new system.

"Our existing system was too labour-intensive," she said. "The Access Supply Chain solution removes a layer of manual process - we will no longer have to enter data onto spreadsheets or Word documents before we can load it onto the system; it completely eliminates the duplication of effort.

"The benefits for us will be immeasurable," said Robertson. "We will be able to get our accounts out an awful lot quicker and it will give us real-time visibility of non-stock items for our contract clients, removing the need for physical checks to be made."

In November 2007, Denco Lubrication acquired certain assets of Engineering & General Equipment Ltd and is planning for turnover to grow from £7.6 million to £9.4 million in 2008. "With the help of Access Supply Chain, this growth will be more manageable," said Robertson. Implementation of the new system is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
