Cancer charity chooses accounting system from Asyst Solutions

London, UK - 23rd May 2007 - The Prostate Cancer Charity has chosen Asyst Solutions to project manage and implement business and accounting software, Access Dimensions and Asyst Purchase Manager. The not-for-profit organisation was looking for a solution to help streamline its business processes, integrate with third-party software and provide the flexibility to cope with future growth and expansion plans.

Liz Ambekar, director of finance and ICT for The Prostate Cancer Charity, commented, "We're growing rapidly in terms of staff, sponsorship income and expenditure. With more corporate partners, further investment in research into prostate cancer, and the launch of a new trading company, our new system needed to cope with the increase in information being processed as efficiently as possible. Access Dimensions and Asyst Purchase Manager will allow us to achieve just that."

The ability to integrate Access Dimensions with the fundraising package, Raiser's Edge, was essential to gain automatic reconciliation between the two systems and to avoid the inevitable errors of re-keying information. There was also a need for better reporting features which the accounting solution provides, meeting requirements such as SOFA/SORP, Charity Commission reporting and restricted/unrestricted fund reporting.

"We needed to produce various management reports and allied to this, was the flexibility to control the underlying structure within the accounts ledger so that we could allocate by project and drill down into the specific detail," said Liz.

"Access Dimensions and Asyst Purchase Manager are a great fit for growing charities as the range of functionality, flexibility and scalability of the packages will not only meet our needs today but also in the future."

The Prostate Cancer Charity was set up in 1996 to raise awareness of this health issue and encourage political debate on support and services. To date, the charity has invested nearly £5 million in medical research and supported men with the illness and their families.
