BigHand chooses Armstrong Consultants for new finance, projects & service management solutions
Harpenden, UK - 1st August 2007 -
BigHand, the leading digital dictation software vendor in the
global legal sector has chosen Armstrong Consultants to implement
new financial, project management and contract management systems
in its UK office. Armstrong will be implementing the award-winning
Access Dimensions alongside Armstrong's own FocalPoint and Service
Manager solutions.
The new system will permit all users across BigHand to access and
link into financial information without the need to touch the core
system. With many consultants off-site, web-based FocalPoint makes
time-recording and expense management simple and accurate, with
integration to payroll and real-time updates to project costing.
Project costing itself was also a key consideration for BigHand.
The new system will include resource allocation for project
managers to book time for each stage within a project and enable
them to link milestones directly to Dimensions. Service Manager
will be utilised for automated invoicing of software contract
renewals.
Mark Norcliffe, Chief Financial Officer at BigHand commented: "We
recognised the need to choose a solution that met all of our needs,
but also the importance of working with a dealer that understood
our business and requirements. Armstrong is similar to BigHand, in
that we offer consultancy, project management, integration,
development, training and technical support - and we are confident
that the integration of specialist project management and service
software into the core accounting system will be hugely beneficial
in streamlining the processes involved."
"As a project-based company, it's essential that all members of the
company can access and file data quickly and efficiently. For
example, consultants will now be able to capture their time-based
data and expenses on the move or at project sites, which is
automatically updated to the financial ledgers. The reporting
capabilities also mean that we can quickly analyse project
profitability and budgets in real-time."
An additional requirement for the new accounts system was to
integrate with BigHand's existing CRM system, Sales Logix. In total
Dimensions will have 15 users, FocalPoint 40 users and Service
Manager 3 users. The system is due to go-live late 2007.
