Access wins Green Software Provider Award

Colchester, UK - 13 October 2009 - Access, the
recently rebranded mid-market consultancy, software and solutions
developer has enjoyed recognition at the SIFT Media Software
Satisfaction Awards 2009. Access has beaten tough industry
competition to win the BASDA-sponsored Green Software Provider of
the Year Award following the release of its Accounting for Carbon
Emissions (ACE) solution in 2008.
Incorporated free within Access Dimensions, ACE
ensures carbon emission figures are as easily accessible as regular
financial reports without the need to change existing workflows.
ACE works alongside an organisation's daily routine, delivering
periodic and on-demand information, enabling them to analyse data
in any way. By making this process simple and affordable, ACE
helps to make solid sustainability-based decisions with
confidence.
Most recently, the ACE functionality has been incorporated
within Access' web-enabled professional services solution,
FocalPoint. This allows staff to log their expenses and carbon
emissions data remotely - whenever they want and wherever they are
based.
Alistair O'Reilly, CEO for Access, commented, "We're honoured to
be awarded this respected accolade: our products are constantly
evolving and this award is testament to our ongoing development and
commitment to delivering innovative solutions."
Alistair continued: "We believe our success lies in the
flexibility of our solution and its ability to help reduce carbon
footprint, and therefore costs, across the organisation. We
started using the tool ourselves prior to its launch and have
recently set a target to reduce carbon emissions per employee by
15% between July 2009 and June 2013, and to reduce this by a
further 5% by 2020. We hope to enable other organisations to
set equally ambitious expectations for reducing their carbon
footprint."
This success follows the announcement that Access has also
reached the shortlist of the 2009 Accountancy Age Awards for
Mid-tier Software Package. The Accountancy Age Awards mark
outstanding work in business, practice and technology with a
judging panel that includes some of the most respected people in
the accountancy profession. Access hopes to repeat its 2008
winning status when the results are announced on 18th November at
Battersea Park Arena in London.
In addition, Access is a finalist in the Construction Computing
Awards for Construction Accounting Software of the Year and
Environmental Product of the Year. These nominations could mean
success for the fourth year running. Customer voting is now
underway and finishes on November 10th, with the awards being held
on November 19th at the Tower Hotel London.
