Colchester, UK - 19 November 2009 - For an
unprecedented second year running, Access has
clinched the Accountancy Age 'Mid-tier Software package of the
Year' award for its Dimensions business
and accounting software. The awards ceremony was held last
night at the Battersea Park Arena in London.
Faced with a multitude of strong entries in this category,
Access impressed the judges with its all-round performance from its
financials through to customer service. "They met so many of the
criteria that in the end they proved the outstanding entry," said
one judge. Another praised Access' repeated efforts to
innovate rather than just resting on last year's 'green'
laurels. "Whether integration with iPhone is a key selling
point or not, it shows that they're thinking on their feet".
Access' entry reflected its recent re-engineering of the company
and the elevation of the brand from a provider of packaged software
to a consulting, software and solutions house. As a result, Access
has successfully won a significant number of six figure deals since
it rebranded on 1st July this year, having recently received its
largest deal ever.
Alistair O'Reilly, CEO for Access, commented, "The mid-market
sector has changed considerably over the past few years. There have
been challenges for businesses to cut costs, be greener and enhance
collaboration with customers, suppliers and staff. Access has
responded to this by providing the solutions to meet these
challenges and automate processes in areas of the business where it
previously was not cost effective to do so. By successfully
transforming our business model, we have been able to bring more
new innovative solutions to market, faster than ever before."
Within the last few months alone, Access has successfully
released workflow
forms, dashboard,
visual stock
forecasting, and an
iPhone timesheet, expense and reporting application. Dimensions
also continues to help customers address forthcoming business
issues such as
VAT and
reporting carbon emissions. Over 1,000 named customers have
also said they would be happy to recommend Access solutions.
This accolade comes just weeks after Access was crowned 'Green
Software Provider of the Year' for its Accounting for Carbon
Emissions tool, in the Sift Media Software Satisfaction Awards.
Just days ago, Access also received recognition once again in The
Manufacturer of the Year Awards when Cheshire-based customer
Renthal won the 'IT in Manufacturing' award for its Access Supply
Chain solution, dramatically reducing lead times to customers.
Access is awaiting the outcome of the Construction Computing Awards
for Construction Accounting Software of the Year and Environmental
Product of the Year. The awards are being held this evening at the
Tower Hotel London.
