Access Technology Group to create dedicated M&A team

Colchester, UK - 3rd September 2007 - Access Technology Group (ATG), the independently owned parent company behind the award-winning Access Accounting, is to create a dedicated M&A team as part of its aggressive growth plans to double turnover to £30m in the next three years. ATG announced this week that it had already hired its first recruit, commercial director Chris Tossell.

 Alistair O'Reilly, group managing director for ATG, commented, "The move will help us gain greater leverage from Access Accounting's flagship software solutions, making them more accessible to a broader range of vertical market sectors. There are many smaller entrepreneurial software houses, designing excellent business systems, that are currently struggling to compete in a market dominated by much larger competitors such as Microsoft and SAP.

"As part of ATG, they will be associated with the Access brand, which has helped our current acquisitions to gain a substantial rise in new business sales. Unlike the major consolidators in the industry, ATG also focuses on investing in the expansion of R&D and key personnel to drive each new subsidiary forward.

"Chris will play a vital role in managing our M&A activity, targeting those organisations that are looking to strengthen their own position and have high level expertise in a specialist or niche software market. Chris' wealth of industry experience will be invaluable to this process - I am delighted to welcome him on board."

Chris joins ATG following 10 years at RM Plc, a provider of ICT software, infrastructure and services to the education sector. During his time with RM, he held a number of different senior management roles and was responsible for opening subsidiaries in both the US and Australia where he was pivotal in winning several state-wide multi-million dollar contracts.
