Access Supply Chain is the recipe for success at Imagefarm
Emley, UK - 28th August
2007 - Rapid growth and an increasing market demand for
product innovation have inspired frozen food manufacturer,
Imagefarm, to replace its existing business software solution with
Access Supply Chain.
Founded in 1990 and based in north-west London, Imagefarm
manufactures added-value frozen foods; primarily whole-muscle and
reformed poultry products for the food service sector. An
independently-owned company, its customers include restaurant
groups and brewery chains. The company takes particular pride
in its ability to create innovative new recipes in its in-house
development kitchen, offering a bespoke development service for
customers as well as continually adding to the Imagefarm branded
range.
Imagefarm was experiencing rapid growth and its existing
business system - a combination of accounting software and
spreadsheets - was beginning to feel the strain. Systems analyst
and implementation project manager, Ian Lycett, commented, "We knew
we needed to introduce significant changes to maintain the level of
efficiency we'd become accustomed to. We wanted an integrated
solution that would allow us to consolidate our information and
improve its visibility throughout the company. That was
critical if we were to go on making well-informed and timely
decisions as the business continued to expand."
After an extensive 10-month review of the market, the company
selected the Access Supply Chain system. "The software jumped
through every hoop and the professionalism demonstrated by the
people at Access was instrumental in our decision to select them as
our supplier - we knew we'd be very comfortable working with them,"
commented Ian.
Ian expects the new system to help bring about immediate
improvements in communication and collaboration across the business
as a result of the improved visibility of information: "As soon as
a sales order comes in, it will be visible to everybody - we expect
that to contribute significantly to the effectiveness of our
purchasing, planning and scheduling. We will build on those
improvements, using the system's innate flexibility to help
automate some of our more time-consuming processes."
Regular introduction of new products is vital for Imagefarm to
maintain its competitive edge. The Access Supply Chain system will
allow synchronisation of the costing formats used by new product
development and the factory, ensuring new recipe costs are based on
live production figures. Ian concluded, "Access Supply Chain will
support the introduction of new recipes into the factory by
allowing us to refine costings through information gathered during
production trials and subsequent production runs. That will allow
us to really nail down our costs."
