Access Supply Chain customers Sound Leisure and Pobjoy Mint are rewarded at prestigious manufacturing awards

Emley, UK - 16th October  2008 - Access Supply Chain received double honours at this year's Manufacturer Live Awards when its clients, Pobjoy Mint and Sound Leisure, were announced as runners-up in two separate awards categories.

The Awards, organised by the Manufacturer magazine, were held at London Excel on Wednesday 15th October and Pobjoy and Sound Leisure Docklands were presented with their awards in front of an audience of more than 400 of the UK's leading manufacturers. It is the second consecutive year that Access Supply Chain has had success at these awards; last year, Crosby Kitchens also won an award for its Access Supply Chain implementation.

Pobjoy Mint received its award in the 'IT in Manufacturing' category.  Pobjoy is Europe's largest private mint. It manufactures coins, medals and tokens - including currency for overseas governments, specialist commemorative coins, tokens for casinos, and medals for private collections.  Receiving the award for Pobjoy, sales administrative manager, Gillian Westbrook said, "This is the second award we've won this year for our Access Supply Chain implementation and we are delighted with the recognition especially because we implemented the system without any specialist internal IT resource."

Sound Leisure has a star-studded client list for its hand-built juke boxes - its clients include premiership footballers, movie actors and other international celebrities and dignitaries.  The Leeds-based company which employs 180 people, received its award for the 'Design and Innovation' category.  Mike Black, director of production and logistics, said, "It's fantastic news for us. Obviously things have moved on dramatically since the days of vinyl and we have to keep ahead of technology; these days our juke boxes retain the traditional design and hand-built quality they are renowned for but they also embrace the very latest digital media."
