Access Supply Chain and Pobjoy Mint make the final shortlist for prestigious manufacturing awards

Emley, UK - 19th September  2008 - Access Supply Chain and its customer, Pobjoy Mint, have made the final shortlist for the 'IT in Manufacturing' category of the Manufacturer Live Awards 2008.

Pobjoy Mint is Europe's largest private mint. Based in Kingswood, Surrey, it manufactures coins, medals and tokens - including currency for overseas governments, specialist commemorative coins, and tokens for casinos, carwashes and vending machines.

Its nomination in the final shortlist of six for The Manufacturer Awards is in recognition of the significant benefits the company has derived from its implementation of the Access Supply Chain ERP solution; these include an 80 percent reduction in works order generation time and a £50K saving in IT running costs.

This is the second award for Pobjoy this year - the company was runner-up in the MITCON Awards in July because of the results it had gained from the Access Supply Chain system - and it is also the second time Access Supply Chain has had success in The Manufacturer Awards; last year Access customer, Crosby Kitchens, won the IT in Manufacturing category.

Craig Such, managing director of Access Supply Chain, commented, "We are delighted with this recognition for Pobjoy; they are an excellent example of what can be achieved through the appropriate and intelligent use of IT; it is also fitting testament to the hard work they put in to get the most from their system with limited dedicated IT resource."

The winner of the IT in Manufacturing Award will be announced at an awards celebration held at ExCel London on 15th October 2008; it will be given to the company which, in the opinion of the judges, "has made significant progress towards the utopia of having designed, implemented and managed an IT infrastructure spanning all its business processes and be able to show returns on the investments it has made as a result."
