Colchester, UK - 12th March 2009 - Business and
accounting software developer, Access Accounting, has raised 2,840
towards medical equipment for its 'Charity of the Year', St
Elizabeth Hospice, in Ipswich. Since 2000, Access Accounting has
raised more than 37,000 for charitable organisations.

Staff organised and took part in a range of activities from a
pie throwing contest through to a cheese and wine raffle. Other
activity included the sale of cards, chocolates and cream teas,
along with staff donating their last working hour of 2008.
John Beech, MD for Access Accounting, commented, "As always, our
staff had plenty of good ideas to raise money. Everyone thoroughly
enjoyed taking part in the fundraising efforts for St Elizabeth
Hospice, a charity which works tirelessly to provide a valuable
service within the local community."
Felicity Green, fundraising development manager at St Elizabeth
Hospice, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year,
commented: "Our charity relies heavily on donations from local
businesses and their staff to help maintain the support we provide
our patients and their families. The funds raised by Access
Accounting will help us provide much needed equipment for the
hospice; we are very grateful for their help."
St Elizabeth Hospice provides specialist care and support for
people in East Suffolk who have a life-limiting illness for whom
the focus of care is quality of life. Their aim is to meet all of
their patients' physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs
whilst giving support and help to family, friends and carers. The
Hospice costs 10 per minute to run, with annual running costs of
5.2 million. The Primary Care Trust provides a grant of 1 million,
with the remaining 4.2 million raised through fundraising
efforts.
