Prior to its official launch next week, Windows Vista creators
Microsoft have announced that the platform's first service pack
update (SP1) could be available before the end of the year.
The company's customers in its technology adoption programme were
sent an email requesting testers for SP1 to provide feedback before
the update is released sometime in the second half of this year,
reports IT Week.
So far, a date for the update's release has not been confirmed and
Microsoft told the website that a date range would be finalised
nearer to the product's completion.
"We expect the first service pack for Windows Vista to be released
in a timeframe similar to that of service packs for previous
versions of Windows," said a Microsoft spokesperson in a
statement.
The Vista operating system should be available from January 30th,
before which Fox News suggests those planning to get a copy follow
procedures such as backing up files and purging systems to ensure
they are fully prepared.
