Microsoft's Windows Vista is set to bring benefits to the
accounting community and consumers in general, according to one of
the company's experts.
Among the advantages provided by the operating platform will be
improved security and backup, an instant search facility and the
ability to work virtually anywhere, according to Bob Lewis, senior
marketing manager in Microsoft's business division.
"Windows Vista is designed to help business users overcome risks
with a highly stable platform that provides maximum security," he
told news source Accounting Software 411.
It also provides new collaboration features which will help staff
to remain productive while on the move, he added.
In addition, Mr Lewis stated that Vista will use features which
will boost search capabilities, such as preview panes and high
resolution icons.
He advised accountants to consider receiving training on how to use
Vista along with the latest version of Microsoft Office.
"Regardless [of] whether accountants upgrade their own PCs, they
need to learn more about both because some of their clients will
upgrade or buy new PCs that will impact them," he said.
Businesses were recently advised to upgrade their computers to
ensure they would be able to deal with the new operating
platform
