Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system is a reliable and
ever-improving product, an expert has claimed.
At last week's Windows Hardware Engineering Conference, Microsoft
chairman Bill Gates claimed that Vista had sold 40 million copies
during its first 100 days on the market.
Michael Keigley, product manager for Windows Product Management,
told IT Pro that the operating system's reliability was already
good and continued to improve.
"If you look at crashes as a result of video drivers, today
they're already down after 100 days with Vista, compared to XP
after five years in the market," he said.
Additionally, he stated that many of the problems encountered by
users were hardware-related but that Vista could use new telemetry
to identify the problems and help solve issues with updates.
The website states that Vista poses fewer issues than XP, adding
that calls for support with the operating system were lower than
the number of calls regarding XP concerns.
