The Global Assessment Trends Report from talent management firm
SHL reveals less than half of HR staff within EMEA do not use
metrics to present the value of HR investments for businesses.
While as many as 80 per cent of businesses are receptive to
feedback from applicants regarding their recruitment processes,
just 31 per cent of respondents indicated they actually monitor
applications - potentially damaging the reputation of HR efficiency
within businesses.
Over 460 HR professionals across the globe were surveyed as part
of the Global
Assessment Trends Report and the underlying trend was that
performance management remains the biggest priority for HR
professionals as the economy continues its recovery.
Meanwhile 'People Intelligence' programmes have come under
scrutiny in order to improve employee retention and the overall
hiring process.
David Leigh, CEO of SHL, said: "As the world economies continue
along a path of recovery, employers are showing even more focus on
the dual priority of retaining their top talent while also finding
the best new hires among the ever-large global candidate pool.
"Corporations have also realised that improving their 'People
Intelligence' will help them create a stronger workforce, which
will ultimately drive better business results and boost the bottom
line."
With an increased focus on maintaining key leadership roles
within the workforce, many businesses are seeking to improve the
efficiency and automation of the HR processes.
HR software is
becoming a popular solution for HR departments with the ability to
operate standalone or fully integrated software that's capable of
working alongside existing payroll programmes. In terms of
supporting the employee lifecycle, HR solutions provide
professionals with the tools to bring together all areas of
training, learning, development and recruitment.
In terms of monitoring applicant reactions and promoting a
positive application experience, 7 per cent of professionals
surveyed have made their HR information systems accessible via
smartphone and mobile devices
