Irish accountancy graduates who plan to use SQL Server as part of their job may want to brush up on their skills or develop their learning by attending a course.

A three-day event is being held in Dublin between April 10th and 12th, providing students or graduates with tutoring on how to maintain a SQL Server 2005 database.

Individuals will have the opportunity to learn through practical application, focusing specifically on how to use the system's features and tools in relation to a database.

Upon completion of the course, which is run by Irish computer training service New Horizons, students should be able to manage security and database files, as well as performing administrative tasks.

In addition, course attendees will also be able to back up and restore databases, monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server, maintain high availability and transfer data.

Last month, Microsoft released its Service Pack 2, to ensure that anyone running the new Vista operating system would be able to ensure that their SQL Server was compliant.
