SQL Server aids Nigerian IT growth

Computer giant Microsoft has been praised for helping the
advancement of information technology in Nigeria through its SQL
Server 2005.
The programme was introduced in the country to help businesses meet
the needs of customers and increase profitability and efficiency,
reports This Day.
Microsoft's product marketing manager for server and tools products
in West Africa, Ms Ejieke Maduka-Ezeadiugwu, said: "We listened to
our customers' feedback and consequently are delivering a
comprehensive business intelligence platform for data integration,
analysis and database management with SQL Server 2005."
She added that the programme was helping businesses in the country
to lower their running costs while helping to develop the nation's
IT ecosystem.
SQL Server is providing companies with developer productivity and
with a platform which can provide better insight into decisions of
a business nature, Ms Maduka-Ezeadiugwu concluded.
Earlier this year, Microsoft launched Service Pack 2 to bridge the
incompatibility between the Vista operating system and SQL Server
2005.
