Qualified management accountants are sought after in Scotland, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has stated.
The claim comes as CIMA announces reaching the 3,000 member mark in the nation, bringing its combined tally of members and students to 5,566.
Stuart Stevenson, finance manager at Morgan Stanley in Glasgow, was named the 3,000th member.
Mr Stevenson said that he chose CIMA because he wanted to achieve a qualification which would provide both a financial and key business skills education.
"The skills I learnt whilst studying towards the CIMA qualification have proved helpful in a variety of ways, from managing people to project planning," he said.
CIMA's deputy president, Gordon Grant, said: "Reaching the 3,000th mark in Scotland is a great achievement for CIMA and demonstrates the continuing high demand for qualified CIMA management accountants in business."
The Herald recently reported that a record number of students were working towards becoming chartered accountants through the institute of chartered accountants in Scotland.
