Financial companies are citing regulatory issues as being among their highest concerns this year and will be a topic under debate by members of the Financial Services Discussion Club.
Matters relating to principles-based regulation, the markets in financial instruments directive and the capital requirements directive are all due for discussion at the club's monthly forums after being requested by members.
The formation of the club was announced last month by independent marketing communications house Clearconcepts, which also plans events.
Clearconcepts is an independent marketing communications house, specialising in market research, events planning and public relations.
The club was set up for firms in the north of England to meet the needs of senior financiers based outside of London whose main focus is consumer care.
Richard Walbach from Clearconcepts said: "Following the introduction of principles-based regulation by the Financial Services Authority, it has become increasingly important for financial companies to benchmark against others in their sector."
Discussion forums are to be held by the club every month throughout 2007, with venues being named in Manchester and Leeds.
