The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has
reported that a record number of candidates sat its exams in
June.
According to the organisation, 154,716 sat ACCA exams, writing
344,0007 papers at 342 exam centres around the world.
More than 6,000 students completed their professional examinations
to become affiliated with the accountancy body, with the results
described as "solid" by Clare Minchington, managing director of
education, learning and development at the ACCA.
"The numbers of students gaining affiliate status is extremely
heartening and we hope to see this grow further in the future," Ms
Minchington commented.
With good pass rates in "traditional" papers, such as Business
Taxation, candidates also demonstrated that they are able to
address the issues facing "21st Century accountants" in the
Strategic Business Planning and Development exam, she added.
The ACCA claims to be the world's fastest-growing global
professional accountancy body, sending exam results and other
reports to 296,000 students worldwide.
