Employees who telework believe that they achieve a better balance between home life and work, a survey has shown.

A study conducted by mobile management business iAnywhere found that 51 per cent of respondents reported finding equilibrium through teleworking, with 50 per cent citing email as the driving force behind using mobile devices, reports IT Pro.

The second most popular reason for deploying the devices was calendaring with 28 per cent, while 14 per cent put job scheduling as their main motive.

However, a quarter of respondents said that the aims of using mobile devices had not been properly explained to them, while 14 per cent stated that they did not know of any mobile objectives.

Mike Oliver, the company's marketing manager, told the website: "We were surprised to see how many companies still have no clear plan and objectives in place for their mobility deployments."

He added that using mobile appliances increased productivity by allowing staff to transact with the company during the day.

In a recent YouGov poll, almost two thirds of interviewees said that remote emailing appealed to them, however 94 per cent had not sent an email through mobile access in the past month.
