Many companies 'struggle to find talent'

A new study by Deloitte has revealed that businesses are having difficulty recruiting talented financial professionals.

The firm found that 37 per cent of chief financial officers surveyed felt that their finance departments were "barely able" to meet its demand for skilled employees.

Marcus Boyle, head of finance consulting practice at the company, said that organisations have attempted to meet "ambitious" targets rather than improving recruitment.

"Demand for high performers in finance is outstripping of supply and few companies are doing what it takes to lure top talent," he stated.

According to the firm, a lack of career development and progression was given as the biggest reason talented employees leave finance roles.

Steve Leeson, associate director or Morgan McKinley, recently said that in order for accountancy and other commercial firms to retain their talented employees, they have to ensure their pay rates are competitive, Onrec.com reports.
