KPMG has been awarded the title of Best Islamic Assurance and
Advisory Services Provider at the 2008 Euromoney Islamic Finance
Awards.
The magazine claimed that KPMG was chosen due to its "impressive"
spread and breadth of assignments, including work in the Middle
East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
"Through intense focus on our clients' business objectives and a
collaborative approach to implementation, we have been privileged
to work alongside our clients as this fascinating market has
expanded and matured," commented Jeremy Anderson, European head of
financial services at the firm.
Brendan Nelson, global chairman of financial services, added that
2008 will be a successful year for Islamic finance as it seeks to
expand with further global opportunities.
Mr Nelson was confident that the industry would continue to grow
and that KPMG will remain committed to working within the
sector.
The Islamic finance industry is growing at a rate of up to 20 per
cent a year making it an "attractive niche" area, according to the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
