The Irish government is to review large sections of company and employment law with a view to
streamlining processes for businesses.
All legislation controlled by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment will be scrutinised in a bid to reduce the amount of forms and documents businesses must deal with, reports the Sunday Business Post.
Company, employment and health and safety legislation will come in for particular attention by the department, which is the latest to have been asked recently to simplify their procedures.
People in the businesses community are to be consulted by the department on subjects like the cost of completing official paperwork, as well as being able to offer advice.
The results from this are hoped to be completed in November with findings published in December.
Recent figures from the department showed that the Irish economy suffered job losses of 680 a week on average from January to August.
This was a 36 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2007, with the services sector the hardest hit.
