Almost two thirds of accountants in Britain have had
accounting experience abroad, according to the latest Career Benchmarking Survey.
The study of 4,972 accountants, undertaken by the ICAEW and Robert Half, found that a third had been employed abroad while 30 per cent had engaged in an international project overseas.
Most had worked in Europe, at 40 per cent, with the America second on 23 per cent, while the least travelled-to areas were Africa and the Middle East on nine and seven per cent respectively.
"In today's uncertain market, skilled finance professionals remain in high demand and the competition for them is intensifying, both on a national and international basis," said Robert Half managing director, Phil Sheridan.
"Attracting and retaining that talent is increasingly critical for any business."
In a different survey, by phone headset company Plantronics, it was found that two thirds of workers in total in the UK would work from home if they could.
They believed they would be happier and more productive doing this, reports the Press Association.
