The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has set out a number of priorities which it would like to see take effect in Wales.
At the launch of the Dragon's Challenge, the institute's director for Wales, David Lermon, stated that the ICAEW believed as part of its philosophy that "what is good for business is good for Wales".
The institute identified six areas in which it would like to see changes made by the Welsh Assembly as part of the Dragon's Challenge.
Among the suggestions was that businesses should receive loans in place of grants as means of financial support, while no additional regulatory requirements should be outlined for business which operates above those on a European level.
The ICAEW also indicated that it would like to see barriers to business development such as transport bottlenecks at the nation's borders removed, as well as the creation of improved rail links to England.
Earlier this month, the institute's president, Richard Dyson, encouraged governments and regulators to reduce the number of initiatives impacting upon the accountancy profession.
