The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
(ICAEW) has announced that a new Associate Chartered Accountant
(ACA) qualification has been launched in the Gulf region.
Currently, ACA-qualified professionals work in over 140 countries,
with 500 accountants in the Gulf already holding the
qualification.
Richard Dyson, president of the ICAEW, said that there is a
growing demand for skilled accountancy professionals in the region
as it continues to develop as a business centre.
"When it comes to technical rigour, transparency, ethical
grounding and ultimately producing business leaders of tomorrow,
there is no qualification like the ACA," he remarked.
The launch marks the first time that the ACA qualification will be
taught locally in the region, with Phoenix Financial Training in
both Dubai and Bahrain offering the course.
Last week, the organisation reported that the pass rate for its
September round of Professional Stage exams stood at 74 per cent
for the accounting module and 81 per cent for taxation.
