A new website has been launched by the International
Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation and the International
Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
The site has been designed to aid workers in following the development of items on the IASB's work programme and help them to participate in the progression of international finance reporting standards.
For those who wish to view meetings online, the IASB is working on its webcasting service. Project channels include meeting summaries and observer notes for each month's discussions.
Additional services will consist of a new homepage which identifies developments and meetings, online observer meeting registration, a dedicated news sections and project pages which include narrative summaries and audio playbacks, discussion notes and exposure drafts.
An open to comment section will also be provided to alert workers to recent discussion papers.
The launch follows meetings last month between the IASB and the
Accounting Standards Board of Japan to discuss the goal of convergence between Japanese general accepted
accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.
