HMRC offers advice to employers in NI

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is to offer workshops aimed at providing practical advice to new employers and sole traders in Northern Ireland.

During October, HMRC will be running the sessions in a number of locations across the country to cover a range of topics, including completing self-assessment returns and statutory sick pay.

Angela Fulton, business advice team manager for HMRC, said that it is "inevitable" that people experience difficulty when they first go into business.

"HMRC runs a number of schemes to make tax as hassle free as possible, and at these events we will be happy to talk about our services, including online filing which is convenient and easy to use," she remarked.

In related news, the body recently reminded those pension scheme administrators looking to file online that the deadline for submitting information is October 16th 2007.

To submit information, administrators are required to register with HMRC's online pension schemes service.
