Less than encouraging economic growth figures for Q2 2011 has
heaped pressure on the Government to encourage and help small
businesses create new jobs, according to the British Chambers of
Commerce (BCC).
David Kern, chief economist at the BCC, believes there is no
undue need for pessimism despite the slow pace of economic growth
in the UK.
He said: "These figures were broadly as expected, confirming
that the economy grew at a slow pace of 0.2% in the second quarter
of the year.
"While special factors, such as the Royal Wedding, partly
account for the weak growth, the overall pace of expansion in the
economy is disappointing."
Mr Kern believes that despite the slowing expansion of the
nation's economy there is no need for panic.
"Economic growth remains in positive territory and other nations
face the same challenges. For example, Germany grew by only 0.1% in
the second quarter while the French economy was stagnant.
"Based on these figures, we believe that the Government must
persevere with its deficit-cutting plan aimed at stabilising our
public finances. On its part, the Government should explore more
policies to help boost growth, such as reducing regulatory burdens
which prevent businesses from creating jobs and wealth."
There is certainly increasing pressure on HR departments to
manage all aspects of recruitment campaigns ensuring vacancies are
requested, authorised and created with ease, using minimal
resource.
Even if recruitment is largely management-owned many SMEs decide
to implement HR software to accelerate and simplify the entire
process, ensuring businesses can manage every facet of employee
development.
Dedicated business HR
solutions address all-important areas of training, learning and
development, enabling small businesses to improve their knowledge
of employee's needs and abilities.
These sophisticated solutions also enable staff to input their
own personal data using self-service modules. Employees can access
their own private documents and payslips as well as prepare for
appraisals and enrol for courses to aid learning and
development.
